Friday

Friday, we decided to do a "test run" with Ms. Amy to make sure that everything would be smooth for my return to work this week. Realizing that I would have the whole day with no kids, Spencer took the day off of work so we could spend it together. Kind of a pre-Valentine's Day just for us. We dropped the kids off that morning and went to have breakfast at Panera. We had discussed spending the afternoon at the bookstore (actually looking for and reading adult books instead of spending the whole time in the Thomas the Train section). Instead, we opted to come home and clean our house instead. Sad, isn't it? I've come to the point in my life where a clean house is more exciting that a morning date at the bookstore. It's worth it to know that my nightstand will not covered with 1/2 inch of dust and little bits of unidentified gunk will not be stuck to the bottom of my socks after walking in the kitchen. However, we did go out and have a nice lunch. A fabulous lunch, actually. A place called the Bristol Bar and Grille. It is local to Louisville - I think they have three locations here. Click here to see the menu. I had the crab cakes and Spencer had a chicken dish that isn't listed.
The big day at Ms. Amy's went well. The highlight of the day was that it took her an entire hour to drink a 3.5 ounce bottle. Normally her mealtimes are completed in 15 min or less. (Now is more like 10 min thanks to Dr. Thompson) I don't know if this is because the milk is coming too slowly from the bottle (using a size 2 nipple on Avent bottle) or that she is just not used to the bottle in general and not sure what to do with it. Oh Well. I work Tuesday/Thursday this week so we'll find out soon enough.
