A Disney/Music Rant
Tell me you see something wrong with this picture. Please say you can see the problem. We were watching the Wiggles on the Disney Channel when they cut to one of their commercials. I forget why, but a little lump of clay was talking about singing. This picture popped up and the lump of clay sang, "la la-la laaa". Now I am not all-together a purist. I will forgive the fact that the lump of clay sang a "Mi-Do" interval instead of the obscure augmented 4th that is written. I applaud him for singing the correct rhythm. But COME ON people. The time signature?? There was no one on staff that day that could identify the correct time signature? If the lump of clay had said that George Washington was our third president, I bet someone would have noticed. If the lump of clay had shown a sign that said "elefant", I bet someone would have caught it. But it's okay to be ignorant in this situation? With all of the editing that happens within the Disney studios, not one person was able to figure out that example has four beats instead of three? Or worse yet, someone DID notice and figured it wasn't important enough to change? Initially, I told myself that I was just getting my feathers ruffled over nothing - most people have only had one or two years of music during school and that was most likely in elementary school. But if I worked for Disney and was creating something for an area that I was unfamiliar with, I would research that area.
Thanks for listening. Rant over.

I'm surprised that you didn't recognize this measure of music. It is a measure from the academy award winning song "It's hard out here for a pimp"
If you have ever heard the song you realize that an extra beat here and there really doesn't matter all that much.
Just be thankful that the person who wrote this measure chose music as a profession instead of neuro-surgery.

Who are you? Is this that long haired hippie with the overgrown bowtie and horrible red jacket? (As I type I'm actually considering finding this picture and posting it next to the current one you've got up there.)
You've been secretly watching MTV haven't you? All those years that we were deprived of cable and didn't get to hear the song from the pimp album.....
