High School Day 1
Today was my first day with students at school. I think I'm going to like working 1/2 days during the mornings. I hate waking up before everyone else in the world, but I like that I'm home to each lunch with the kids.
I'm still undecided about teaching HS students. I don't think I'm going to have ANY discipline problems. They were perfect. Sat down. Took notes. Asked intelligent questions. After so many years with the middle schoolers, I didn't think these traits existed any more. Granted, it was day one. But I'm completely optimisitic.

So how were the general music classes? Are these the ones that will use the piano lab? I'm VERY happy for you that the students were so well behaved! You couldn't ask for a better beginning!

Instead of general music, they are actual piano classes. We use the Adult Alfred book and everything. They're going VERY well. I thought I would feel really uncomfortable with the whole piano thing, but I'm treating it just like a beginning band (well, as much as possible).
