Word of the Week

One can learn a lot from teaching teenage kids. Almost every day I have to stop a kid and ask, "WHAT did you say?" Needless to say, my vocabulary has increased ten-fold. Well, my knowledge of vocabulary has increased. I'm not sure I'll ever try to use this new lingo in an actual conversation.

Just for fun, I'll start you out with two words:

A hot mess
(adj.) Bad, terrible, not good.
e.g. "Boy, she look a hot mess in that shirt today"

Cakein'
(v.) To flirt.
e.g. "Oooh, look. He be cakein' on that girl!"

Sometimes it is better not to know what they are saying.

In case you need a little help here is a website that I use.

It makes some kids really upset when they think you actually know what they are talking about.
