Umm.....
Today we are sitting outside on our front porch. The front door is open but the screen door is closed.
Easton looks behind me and asks, "Is there someone in our house?"
I do a quick count. Me, Easton, Camille - all outside.
Me - No.....do you see someone in our house?
Easton - There, inside the bricks - is there someone in there?
Me - Show me.
Easton - (He points to a crack in the cement between some bricks), Right there Mommy - the bricks are hatching.

Priceless! Absolutely priceless!
A perfect example of "schema".
Great call, lcr. For those not aware of what Schema represents...Schema is derived from the Greek word Skhema, which means shape or a general plan. A Conceptual Schema in Psychology is a map of concepts and their relationships. Example... we saw a birds nest under our deck last weekend with 2 eggs inside. Easton seems to be making the connection that when eggs crack - birds come out and when the pavement or bricks have cracks - there must be someone coming out of or going into the crack. What a bright young man we have. :)

ok... I cannot in good faith continue without admiting that I had to look up what Schema meant. I have now learned my English lesson for the day. Thank you lcr and thank you Wikipedia - :)
don't trust wikipedia. it lies.
