I'm getting a Chia Pet
This will be my last tomato post I promise.
But OH MY GOODNESS let me tell you how good my lunch was today. Thank you Tabler friends for sending me a bag of cute little cherry red tomatoes. About 5:30 this morning I stuck my hand in the bag of the dark kitchen and popped in a handful on my way to school. I noticed that Mark had left them "on the vine". As I was driving home I was talking to Spencer and he mentioned the tomatoes and basil that Kim gave him last night at Town Band. Wait......that wasn't a vine - it was basil!!! Now my mind is racing.......oh please, do I have ingredients to throw together a pizza? The answer was yes. We had mozzarella and pita pockets (which double as a great pizza crust) As I'm assembling the little pizzas I notice how beautifully fragrant the basil smells. Have you ever smelled fresh basil? I guess I hadn't. I know the dried stuff doesn't count, but I get it "fresh" in those little packages from the grocery sometimes and it still has never had this amazing smell. I want to make a lotion out of this smell. And the taste on my pizza was even better. Fresh tomatoes, fresh basil......it's like I'm almost in Italy or something.
Anyway - I still think I would kill anything trying to grow in a garden. But I'm considering an herb chia pet. I could do that right?
