Doctor updates

Claire had her two month check up last week. Here are her stats:

Height: 22.5 inches (50%)
Weight: 10 pounds, 7 ounces (50%)

Camille at 2 months:
Height: 24 inches (90%)
Weight: 12 pounds, 2 ounces (90%)

Easton at 2 months:
Height: 22.5 inches (25%)
Weight: 12 pounds, 13.5 ounces (75%)

So she is the biggest one at birth but smallest one at 2 months. How strange. I was also shocked to see how much bigger Camille was than Claire - I expected them to be about the same. Camille is going to out grow them all.

Yesterday Easton had his kindergarten physical and he did great. He knew his phone number, address, how to draw a triangle, count, ABC's, and everything else he was asked. He even knew that he should not take candy from strangers and that is something that we've never really talked about in depth. During the physical we also found out that he has a case of walking pneumonia. He has had a cough the past few days but no fever so I ignored it. Of COURSE it's pneumonia. If I'd taken him to the doctor it would have been nothing. Oh well. We went to Walgreens to get our meds last night and he should be good as new in a few days.
At the end of the visit something kind of strange happened. Camille was jabbering 90 miles a minute to Dr. Thompson and I was translating as she went. As he was writing the prescription for Easton he asked me exactly how old Camille was. I said she'd be 3 in December. He asked if we had her in speech therapy. Umm.......no......should we? He said at 2 1/2, he should be able to understand a lot more of what she's saying. Now. Remember. This is Dr. Thompson. You know - my pediatric crush. One of the reasons that I love him is because he is so laid back. He ALWAYS gives the laid back approach - the "wait and see" approach. For three children now I have begged, begged, BEGGED him to give me drugs to keep my children from spitting up all over creation. And he keeps telling me that I have "happy spitters" and I should just keep the burp cloths coming - no reason to put chemicals in them if not necessary. So I was a little taken aback that he suggested speech therapy. I thought all 2 year olds were impossible to understand. And perhaps they are but he heard some lack of developmental something in her speech. We'll take a look into it and see what happens.

Maybe if she would slow down you could understand her. Also what are the odds of our Doctors having the same name and Hannah and Kendall had their annual check up today. Hannah was 52 in. and weighed 59 lbs. Kendall was 38 in. and weighed 31 lbs.

Go EASTON!!! He's a smart little guy! He's DEFINITELY ready for Kindergarten.

How bazaar that he has walking pneumonia. That's just my luck......don't ask=bad. Do ask=nothing. In fact, I took both of the older ones to the doctor 2 weeks before Jack was born because they both sounded like they were VERY congested/cold/bronchitis-like. I wanted to make sure they were well before Jack arrived. Because I took them, they just had a cold. Go figure :-)

So who will you contact about Camille's speech? Maybe Easton's school? Keep us posted on what they say.

Jenny,

Don't be too concerned about Camille's speech. As I recall, you did quite a lot of jabbering before I could actually understand you. By the time Camille starts Kindergarten she will be speaking just fine.
