Dessert Diaries

Dump Cake

How have I gone through life and not experienced this deliciousness before? I may have had it, but I obviously did not appreciate it at a young age or I would have remembered it. While at the ladies retreat in Gatlinburg, this was made for our dessert one night. I think I ate 4 or 5 helpings. It is one of those desserts that just makes me happy (especially the crunchy crumbly top part)

So today it is 20 degrees outside and I am cold. Instead of making hot tea or putting on a bigger sweatshirt - I am making dump cake. And I'm going to eat it piping hot right out of the oven.

Ingredients:

One can cherry pie filling
One can crushed pineapple (undrained)
One box yellow cake mix
One stick butter

Put cherry and pineapple in a greased dish.
Sprinkle dry cake mix on top.
Cut up butter and add all over the top.
Cook at 350 for 50-60 min.

It is excellent with blueberry pie filling (instead of cherry) as well. I made it the night Jeff asked me to marry him. (shows you how good it was)
