Bring a Friend

When Easton was 4 we signed him up for tee ball. This was not a hard decision. Boy = baseball. And we alredy knew he'd love it because he'd been hitting and pitching since he was 18 months old. What? Don't believe me? Look at this (click on video at bottom of post).

So when Camille turned 4 it was her turn to do something. But what? Tee ball? No, she would be a daisy picker for sure. Dance? EEK! RUN! NO! (Yes, I have dance issues. I don't know why.) Ooh! Karate! Uncle John does Karate (okay fine, it's one of those other asian arts but I forgot the name). I was all set to enroll her in Karate until... Camille formed her own opinion. I hate it when they do that. The conversation was simple, "Mommy, when can I be a ballerina?" sheesh. knife right through the heart. So I started looking for ballerina classes. Because God loves me and saw that I was making an effort He led me to the world of gymnastics. Kind of like dance (aka ballerina) but not exactly. AND THEN we found out that good friend Hallye from church goes to gymnastics and Monday was bring a friend night! Woo-Hoo! Camille was delighted to be in ballerina gymnastics class. And yay for Target for selling ballerina skirts that fit over the gymnastics leotard. We were set.

Please notice the girls in all of their cuteness as they wait for class to start:

More cuteness:

Claire hanging out with MO (aka Hallye's dad) during gymnastics. Mrs. MO was also there but I wasn't able to get a picture of her. Claire and MO made a great team as MO discovered Claire's pointer finger was the perfect size to punch the buttons on his iphone. She was happy as a clam to sit with her little finger out as they punched their way through a few games of tic-tac-toe.

After bouncing her way down the trampoline, Camille got to jump into a pile of blocks. Okay, she wasn't sure about jumping at first but rather slid into the blocks.

A bird's eye view of all the fun things to do at gymnastics. Way in the back is a trapeeze-like swing where Camille did great and DID jump into the blocks!

Bring a Friend night was a huge success. Camille is all set to be a gymnast and we are enrolling in the next session.

p.s. Dear Photographer friends, why does my camera take dark pictures when I use the zoom but the lighting is fine when I do not use the zoom? Should I just take all pics without zoom and then use computer to zoom/crop later?

1 - This place has open gym every day from 12 - 1 (a smaller area is also open starting at 10) $5, I highly highly recomend it. Jillian and I do it a lot and Erin is jealous she can't go anymore.
2 - Erin was supposed to go to bring a friend her Tuesday night and it was cancelled. She was BUMMED! So glad Camille had fun :) I think we will be signing Jillian up for gymnastics before too long.
