Milestones

Each of my children had a milestone this morning.
Easton has been in a big boy bed for almost a year now. I think the honeymoon is officially over. We have always put him to bed and even if he would scream and cry he would NEVER get out of the bed. Ever. In the mornings he will call from his room, "Mooommmmy, Daaaaddddddy, come get me!" This morning Spencer and I were sitting on the couch when the call came through the house. When Spencer got up to go get him out of bed, Easton met him halfway down the hall. Spencer explained that he had to stay in bed until Mommy or Daddy came to get him out, but I'm afraid the damage has already been done. Something in his brain flipped and now he knows he can get himself out of bed. I have horrible images of the kids on SuperNanny that run around the house and taunt their parents at bedtime. Currently he's in his room for nap and hasn't tried to make a run for it yet. I may be in luck. Maybe it will be another week or so before his newly formed freedom takes its full effect.
On to Camille...I was packing her up in the carseat to go to the gym this morning and I had her swaddled under a billion blankets to keep her warm. We have a few of those dangling things hooked to the carseat to give her something to look at. I saw her purposefully wriggle a fist out from under the blankets, stare crossed eyed at her target, and then swat at them. Hooray!
