Just call me Ms. La Leche
I should win an award. Really. When Easton was young, I would only feed him in public if it were absolutely necessary and then I would have a cape wrapped around me and all accessories strategically located. With Camille I have loosened up a bit and gotten pretty handy with just a blanket. This past week we met up with Candy and Tiana at the library. My timing was off and I realized that Camille needed lunch. It was a beautiful day outside. I hadn’t brought a blanket for Camille. Ugh. We had only been there a few minutes and I was not ready to have Easton melt down if I suggested we go home. There is a children’s section that is pretty secluded and I figured I could make it work. I told Easton that I was going to feed Camille and he needed to mind Ms. Candy. (Tiana, who is 5, overheard this comment). I went to the corner and tried to do my best with just me and her and my t-shirt. After a few minutes Tiana came up to me and got nose to nose with Camille. She asked me, “Is she sleeping?” “Yes”, I say. (Okay I lied to a 5 year old, sue me) Her next question, “When are you going to feed her?” “When she wakes up.” I respond.
HA! I did it! Less than 10 inches from an inquisitive 5 year old and she was none the wiser.
p.s. I plan on keeping a blanket in the truck from now on in case this should happen again.
