Oaks Day
Guess who we had breakfast with yesterday? Alright, so he passed by our table and I could have touched him if I wanted to. It's kind of like having breakfast together, right? Spencer and I had breakfast at Lynn's Paradise Cafe for the third year in a row yesterday morning. For those of you non-Louisvillians, Friday is Oaks Day. This is the day before Derby and every bit as big of a deal to the locals.
This is a shot of us from last year. Once I get the pictures together from this year, I'll put them up. I wore the same hat but different outfit. Anyway, we saw Lynn's featured on the Food Network several times while living in IL and decided it would be one of the first places we visited when we moved to KY. (Click here to see their menu. Yummy.)It became our own little Derby tradition to have breakfast there together. Maybe next year we'll actually go to the race track. The longer I live here, the more I am enjoying this week of festivities. It's a shame I don't know a thing about horses.
