Easter 2007
I love Easter. I think it may be my favorite holiday. Christmas is wonderful, but very stressful. Presents to buy, places to travel...Easter is less complicated. The Easter Bunny has done it's part to live up to Santa Claus but hasn't quite succeeded. Growing up I only remember getting one basket from the bunny. (We were still on the farm - I might have been 5 or 6). There may have been others, but I don't remember them. Instead I remember Sunrise Services. And Country Ham breakfasts. I remember always shopping for a new Easter dress. I remember lunch at Granny's house. This year I tried to re-create some of those memories. I didn't have much control over the sunrise service or country ham breakfast, but I did my best to make a lunch Mom and Granny would approve of. And everyone got a new Easter outfit. Even me! I haven't gotten a new Easter dress since I had Easton. And I wore it! And I froze! Oh well. Camille ended up wearing the green dress (option #1). It was the only dress that came with a matching sweater, so it got the winning vote. We had friends come eat lunch with us and it was a perfect afternoon. We've been blessed to have such a great support of friends that have become our family here in Louisville when we are unable to be with family in TN. Birthday parties, Date nights, card nights, swingset building projects, countertop remodeling projects, you name it....we've had friends who never question why - they just come to fill the need. And today was no exception.
We got some pictures of everyone. But this is after Camille lost her bow (her hair is crazy) and Easton had already changed his clothes and we had to make him change BACK just to take a picture. Next year I will make sure to take pictures before we leave for church instead of after we get home!
