4 year old shots
Easton had his 4 year old check-up today. Yes, I know it's way past his birthday - but we still made it before the pre-school deadline next Tuesday. He is still in the 50% for height and weight and all developmental markers seem to be on track. Everything was fun and happy, until......the mean lady came with the needles. It was bad folks. You think it's bad to watch a tiny baby get poked in the leg? That's got nothing on a screaming 4 year old. But at the end there were Scooby-Doo band aids and Superman stickers and yellow suckers. All is well again in Easton land.

was the screaming worse than when he met buddy bat at fazoli's?
No amount of child psychology is sufficient to put a positive spin on getting shots. It hurts no matter what you do or say. Band aids and stickers are a small consolation. Buy him some cake and ice cream and tell him it is from Papa.

Well, he's lucky. When I was a kid my dad went down to the farmers co-op to get our shots. You know the ones they give horses, he said it was all the same. Then he gave us a piece of wood to bite down on. That was until we were three then he took the wood away and told us to take it like a man. Afterwards he would rub some spit and dirt on it and tell us to go back to work. So I envy your son.
