Lunch at Granny's

Growing up I thought it was normal to have 17 side dishes and 43 dessert options at every meal. Granny has had some problems with her foot lately. She has been ordered by doctors to "take it easy". The doctors obviously don't know Granny. As we came into her kitchen someone asked her how long she'd been on her feet. As she glanced at the clock her reply was, "Oh, since about 4:30 this morning."

For Sunday lunch we had:

7 layer salad
Broccoli salad
Fruit salad
Green Beans
Lima Beans
Sweet Potatoes
Corn on the Cob
Creamed Corn
Macaroni and Cheese
Rolls
Cooked Ham
Turkey
Barbeque
Yellow Cake
Chocolate Cake
Strawberry Shortcake
Birthday Cake
Ice Cream

And this was a light lunch. And I'm not being dramatic. I love that stubborn woman.

I do!! Two days later and I STILL have it. The bad thing is, I always tell myself I will eat sensibly at Granny's. And then 3 plates of creamed corn later I realize that I have no willpower.

Oh - squash. That may be the only item there that didn't make it on my plate.
