Teacher Day #1

And.........we're back!!!!

Today was Freshman orientation, tomorrow and Friday will be Open House/Orientation for Sophomores - Seniors.

I love the first days of school. Everything is new and fresh. The kids are excited. The teachers are excited. Don't get me wrong - this love and happiness will be gone by the end of August, but it's fun the first week or so.

We're also getting a new choir teacher this year. Jeff's was able to find a job in IN that puts him only 1.5 hours away from his family instead of the 6 that they had in Louisville. The lady that they hired is from Minnesota. My first impression of a person is almost always incorrect. I don't know why this is, but I've learned to ignore it. My first impression of this lady is that the kids were going to eat her alive. But after speaking to her several minutes it's easy to see that she truly loves music and teaching. And she's been in the schools for 15 years now, so I think everything will be great. And she has an uncanny resemblance to one of my cousins who is also a teacher (MJC) so surely, that counts for something.
