Dinner Diaries
Chili is one of those foods that I've never made the same way twice. I don't have a standard recipe so I end up making it up every time I try. I made it this week and thought it turned out very well. It was not too hot and not too mild. Had a good texture and would be good to bring to a party. For my personal taste, I would want it a bit hotter, but overall not bad.
1 pound ground beef
1 chopped onion
Handful of green and red peppers (I buy the frozen kind already chopped)
garlic
1 large can of mild chili beans
1 large can of hot chili beans
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
Cumin powder
Chili powder
Pepper
I cooked the beef with the onion, garlic and peppers until they were soft. Then I dumped everything else in the pot. I have no idea how much of the spices were used. I just kept shaking until it smelled and tasted right.
