We are OFF the market

We called our realtor and called it quits yesterday. And I feel good about this. After 30 something days and one Open House we have had zero interest in our house. There was one fluke showing the day after we put it on the market, but after that all has been silent. And I know that this is a bad time of year and generally a bad seller's market and it's only been 30 days, yada, yada. But this just felt right. I like my house. I like our neighborhood. I like our yard. I like my kitchen. I like my new bathroom. It would be nice to have a little more bedroom space and perhaps more play area, but what we have is completely sufficient. One of my nurses at the OB appt told me that she and her 3 sisters all slept together in a double bed growing up. That's two at the head of the bed and two at the feet of the bed. Surely I can fit two kids in a 10X11 bedroom. We will toss the sofa bed downstairs (sorry if you visit us, you'll have to do with the air mattress) and make room for more of a play space for the kids. And possibly buy a flat screen to free up more room as well. Because in my mind these only cost $400-$500 and this is rational. I know Spencer knows better but he's been nice enough not to tell me the real price of these things.

Good for you guys! I'm glad you feel good about this decision. It would probably take a LOT to find a home that has all of the "likes" of this one, plus others. If you choose to sell later, then great! If not, I don't think the kids will be scarred for having to share a room.

You keep on thinking $400-$500. Let Spencer do this purchase alone and stay away from the receipt. :-)

i'm sure whatever you get for the sofa bed at the yard sale will cover the cost of the flat screen. and will is still up for converting the laundry room to play/sleep space if you need him.

Jenny,
Do you remember the farm house? You had your own bedroom but it was basically a closet. Lori and Kerri shared a room.

With a big screen TV and an NFL season pass Spencer might move downstairs and you and the new baby can stay in your bedroom.
