Ruffle Meets Tote

Yes, I know. I should be posting pictures of Christmas. I'll get there. Meanwhile you get to see MORE RUFFLES! I'm a maniac. Finally, I've found a craft blog that gives directions I understand. This woman is my new hero. She has unknowingly guided me through an apron and a tote. Now for the fun part - the tote directions did not include the ruffle. I did that on my own. Actually I did the straps on my own too. Her directions were easy to follow but to add the ruffle I had to wing it a bit and it actually worked. So - this is part of a gift for Cousin Katie's birthday next week. She's having a Pony Party and I saw this fabric and couldn't resist.

Holy cow, Jen! What an awesome job! You're really getting good at this sewing thing :-)

Did you do a final apron that you didn't post on your blog? I'd love to see it.

Her apron tutorial (nana's reversible half apron) is the one I used to make my first ruffle apron below. That fabric was just extra in my stash so I really want to try it again using some "nice" stuff. I'll post pictures when I do it!

Boy am I going to show my ignorance.........I've had it in my head, from the first time I looked at your "apron" below, that THAT was a shirt! Don't ask why.....I scrapbook ;-) Now I get it! I think the one made out of "scrap" material looks GREAT! I cannot wait to see your "fancier" version.
