Sorry MO
Last week at church MO informed me that my postings had been slacking since Christmas. So finally I have some pictures together but they are of the crafty variety. Sorry MO. At least Mrs. MO will appreciate them.
I've been sewing lately. I still only know how to make three things, but here they are.
Easton's bear. I never added the nose so imagine that he has one. The neck and feet also have issues but I've learned how to avoid them for my next bear project. He is made of corduroy so I got to "venture out" into the fabric store for things other than cotton or decorator fabrics.
My "Vera Bradley" knockoff tote. Did you know you can buy pre-quilted fabric? Well - when sewn up in a tote bag, it's kind of fun. Camille helped me model this.
My diaper tote experiment. I measured it out to be about the size of a purse but big enough for a trip across town with new baby. For this I used interfacing for the first time and added a long inner pocket (for diapers or wipes of course) and......A SNAP! I'll admit the snap did not turn out as well as planned. It looks great but is not very durable feeling. The thing came with zero instructions so I had to wing it. After I put it in I did some research on the internet and learned that it's helpful to sew button holes (umm....I'm not that brave yet) around where the snap will be placed for extra re-inforcement. The receiver of the tote will just have to be careful about yanking it open.

The invisible tote. I made a trio of little tote bags in a cute green fabric. I'm an idiot and forgot to take pictures. Same basic pattern as quilted tote and diaper tote only smaller. Use your imagination.

And finally.....my craft fair experiment. Yep. You heard me. Me. Craft fair. Scary. My crafty friends always have a booth at a local craft show at the end of May. I am going out on a limb and joining them this year. I'm going with the aprons because I looked around last year and it's something that no one else is doing. I'll do about half regular aprons and try a "mommy and me" version for the other half. Since many of the clients will be grandma's I thought it would be a fun thing to have around the kitchen for baking cookies with the grandkids. And they'll have pleats! (See picture below during pinning and measuring process). I like pleats. I thought they were more fun to make than the gathers. Thanks to Candy and Tiana for being my models for this one. (I tried wrapping it around the pregnant belly - wasn't a good outcome)

tiana looks terrified of your apron, but i think they are very cute. if i spent more time in the kitchen i would definitely wear one.
i will send you pictures of your green purse.
As I've said several times before, you are doing an awesome job with this sewing thing! I am really impressed! I cannot wait to see how the Mommy & Me (or Grandma & Me) aprons turn out! I bet they will sell pretty well.
Way to go!
