Feeling Full

Easter is my favorite holiday. Most people choose Christmas but I choose Easter. I LOVE Christmas, but something about Easter is special. Maybe it's because we never did a lot of Easter Bunny growing up so I didn't get lost in the presents and candy. Maybe it's because it's in the spring and you get that feeling of newness. New spring flowers. New Easter dress. New life in Christ. Yesterday was a great day.

We had a very special service that included Hurstbourne's version of Sandy Patti with a tambourine, handbells, hymns, lip trills from my hubby and the Hallelujah chorus with orchestra. Now who can't be blessed with all of that?

After church we came home to a house full of people. Several couples from our SS class were able to share dinner with us. Although the yeast rolls flopped they were the only thing that went wrong in the food department. We had homegrown green beans and corn (thank you Ms. Wanda), mashed potatoes, blackeyed peas, cranberry stuffing, broccoli salad, pretzel salad, bread shaped like bunnies, more rolls, strawberry shortcake, caramel cake and cookies!!!

You know a meal is good when you've placed all the food around your plate, had to go to the middle of the plate for more room and then had to start stacking things on top of other things to make it all fit. And then you go back for more. And then you start thinking of ways to bump into the caramel cake to make the little bits of icing fall off so you can have just one more nibble. :)

After dinner the weather was sunny and slightly cool. We put jackets and hoods on the kids and sent them all outside to hunt Easter eggs. MO brought the Wii and there was bowling and tennis fun in the living room as well. It was a nice day. Poor Easton had to learn the most important Easter lesson of all. When we all came home from church he immedietly went to his room and put on play clothes. He was told by no less than 5 women that he had better get his Sunday clothes back on and quick! "But why?" he kept asking. We hadn't taken pictures yet!! Poor guy. He'll learn. To this day I won't change out of my Sunday dress until Big Granny sees me.

So I am full. Emotionally. Spiritually. Physically.

I've almost forgiven the fact that I didn't get to eat Country Ham and biscuits.

I am so glad your easter was so wonderful. We actually had family in town, so we were very blessed to celebrate with them.

I love your easter pic. Your hair is so long! I can't believe it, I think it has been years since I saw it this long. It looks great!

And the look on Camile's face is priceless. She is adorable.
