Yeast and Cankles
It seems I'm being attacked from all angles. I tried Granny's yeast rolls today. I thought I was a genius until the very end. Everything was going as planned until the second rise. Well, it didn't. The first rise was great - big poofy dough flowing out everywhere. Once I got them into roll shape and sat them out again, they went nowhere. I waited and waited. I thought they may do something in the oven. Nope. I got yeast biscuits. The taste is there. But in a flat and sad form. Mom said maybe I rolled them too thin. Maybe - but where was the rise????
Oh yes. In my feet. I lost my ankles today. I guess the yeast got down there somehow. I had ankles last night. I promise I did. (Spencer informs me that I didn't. Maybe they've been gone for a while and I just now noticed). But this is what I'm left with. Flat rolls and big ankles.

Holy cow, Jenny! Those are really puffy ankles!! Or rather, a puffy spot where your ankles USED to be :-)
I can't wait to meet baby Claire :-)
Ok Jenny, those ankles are not so bad at 8-9 months, even though they are not fun. I have them already at 5 months! I just can't believe it. They stay swollen like that all day. I don't salt anything, and have even strayed away from Chinese and Mexican foods, I love. I keep thinking of all the cute little sandles I can't wear because my feet are too swollen. It is hot here and cankles are not cute with capris and skirts. Maybe there is something else I could do. Any suggestions?
