One plus one does not equal two

Or at least one sleepy baby who is also one full baby does not equal more hours of sleep. It should. It really, really should. I'm trying to find a pattern in Claire's nightly ritual and there simply isn't one. Some nights she'll sleep for one 4 hour stretch and some nights she will wake every 2. And some nights she will eat and go right back to sleep and some nights she'll wake an hour or so after eating just to fuss. I need a pattern here people! She is, at least, settling into a routine bedtime. No matter when her "dinner" feeding is (somewhere around 6 or 7) she is ready to fall into a deep sleep around 8:00 just like her siblings. I've tried letting her stay asleep. I've tried waking her around 10 and feeding again. I've tried keeping her awake until 10 and she is hopping mad and feeding again. It doesn't matter. Nothing yields more sleep for the mommy. In case you're counting - that's 86 consecutive nights so far. I'm getting old. I need sleep - not little naps. And I'm a little scared that this is going to go on past August. I have to start school again in August. Eeek.
