It's the thought that counts...

I'm afraid of turning into that crazy Aunt Jenny that doesn't know that handmade skirts with a crooked hem and elastic waistband is NOT cool. If you are ever the recipient of my craft-craziness I hope you'll remember that whole "thought that counts" thing. The fun thing about crafts is that they take a while. It's a much longer process than going down to the mall and picking something up. So that's a lot of time thinking of one person. Even when all the decisions are made (What pattern to use? What fabric to use?) the process of making the item causes me to reflect on who it's for. And that sounds way more mushy gushy than I want it to - but you get the point.

So - many dollies later - I've gotten to think about a lot of little girls lately. Hopefully, each of them is suited perfectly to her new owner down to the hair color, dress pattern and name. Now if I can just get them all in the mail...

I think this is one of the sweetest gifts I've ever seen, Jenny! And no, I don't think you'll make a crooked sewing Aunt :-) You're too "hip" to do something like that!

You are so sweet!
