Spring Break
For the past two days the kids have had a wonderful time at their Mimi's house for Spring Break. Several people have asked me, "What did you do while they were gone?" I did this! Finished! (kindof) Hooray! I am so thankful I had two entire days of nothingness because it took every second. Of course Spencer and I treated ourselves to dinner and fun with friends during the evenings, but from breakfast to dinner I sat in my corner of the kitchen and had a great time. This is Camille's skirt. I wanted her and Claire to match, but thought she would feel more grown up with a big girl skirt instead of a dress. Thank you Target for having a cute white sweater that will go with it perfectly. I did not use a pattern for this. I knew what I wanted and couldn't find a pattern that suited me, so I just winged it. I raided her closet for other skirts and dresses to use for sizing. I'm still debating on whether I want to add a tiny ruffle trim around the bottom... Claire's dress - Simplicity 2767. I still need to add a zipper in the back, but otherwise done. I was doing great with the pattern until it was time to make the bubble skirt and attach to bodice. I have NO IDEA what that pattern was trying to tell me to do. Thank you to google I found a zillion tutorials for "bubble skirt" and used a different method.
Together
A few weeks ago, I found Easton a very grown up purple tie (not a clip on, but a real tie that...ties!) The Barham children will be all matchy matchy and sickenly sweet this Easter. Watch out. And I promise there will be no more sewing posts for a long time :-)
