And the Oscar goes to...

This morning Camille and Claire entered the living room and said, "Do you want to see our play we made up?" Well of course I do! But this usually means that I watch 5 or 6 minutes of nonsense ad lib and when there is a strange pause in the action then that is my clue to clap and say Hooray! But this morning was a little different. Our 4th grader friend who catches the bus at our house had obviously been helping out with the play. There was tension, resolution and a smidge of character development. I missed filming the first time (who knew it would be Oscar worthy?), but they put on an encore presentation for me to get on camera.

Transcript:

A very beautiful, yet sad, mermaid: "I wish I had a best friend...."

Another beautiful, yet sad, mermaid: "I wish I had a best friend, too..."

Mermaid 1: "Hey, we both want friends. Would you like to be my friend?"

Mermaid 2: "SURE!"

Mermaid 1: "Okay, Let's go play in the water."

The two beautiful mermaids now swim away with their new best friend.

The End.
