Project Potty - Day 1 Naptime update

The morning began as normal. We ate breakfast in our pj's and then everyone went to put on their play clothes. Easton did not fuss a bit about putting on underwear instead of the diaper. I think it helped that he could see that there were no diapers in the basket and he really didn't have much of a choice. He chose his new Superman underwear (boxer briefs) and wore them about 5 minutes and was asking to wear something else. He claimed the Superman were too big. We switched to the Thomas underwear (tighty whities) and he was much happier.
He kept insisting that he didn't want to use the potty. I told him that was fine and I wouldn't make him. But if he wanted to sit on the potty he could ask me and we would go. About 2o minutes later he looked at me and said, "uh-oh." I asked if he wanted to go to the potty and he said yes. We sat on the potty and he suddenly got a huge grin on his face. He said, "Mommy - now I can open Alfie!" Although we had missed our opportunity and had wet underwear and pants, I think he "got" it.
We spent the next few hours trying to make it to the potty in time so we could open Alfie. Four wet sets of underwear and pants later, we decided to try it 'a la naturale'. I'm really surprised that he agreed to this. While most children love streaking in the buff, Easton likes to be covered. At this point it was only about 10:00. From 10:00 - 11:30 we played around the house wearing nothing but a shirt. In that time he downed a full glass of juice. I kept asking if he wanted to sit on the potty and he kept saying no. At 11:35 he said, "Mommy, I have to go NOW". And we did. Poor Camille. All day I've been dropping her like a hot potato to run to the potty. I'm sure she thinks that I have lost my mind. So we got there and sat, and then......there was a drop. The drop became a small tinkle and there was rejoicing all around. We opened Alfie right there on the spot. In the next 45 min. he went 3 other times. Each time was just a trickle, but maybe that's all little kids do? Now it is nap time and everyone is sleeping happily. (Alfie sleeping in Easton's bed of course.)
Knowing that I was not ready to go cold turkey during nap time, I went against all that I stand for and created the "Diaper Fairy". Yes, me. The same woman who is seriously contemplating not telling him about Santa or the Easter Bunny came up with a Diaper Fairy. The Diaper Fairy will leave a diaper under his pillow so he can sleep without making his sheets wet. She will only come at nap or bedtime. I figured he would completely rebel if he knew I had a stash of diapers hidden in my room and wouldn't give them to him. At least this way there is a third party involved and Mommy has no control over the diapers. It was, however, cute to see his face when he looked under the pillow. You would have thought he found and entire bag of M&M's or a whole Thomas set.
Anyway - that was our morning. I'm sure there will be more to report tonight.
