What do you think???

Shower curtain shopping is difficult! The hall bath is almost ready for paint. The wallpaper has now been officially removed. We will patch/spackle tonight and be ready for color. But what color? We still have no idea. This is the hall bath. It's the one that company will use whenever you come to our house, yet it's also the one that Easton and Camille use. I wanted a room that is manly enough for Easton, girly enough for Camille, yet adult enough for visitors. I came up with a black and cream toileish, floralish curtain.

black = manly
floralish = girly
black and cream = very mod = adult

I like it. It's not at all what I was searching for. But after three stores it was the best that I had seen and I wanted something different.......and this is different. And I like it.

But it doesn't help us choose a wall color. In fact it makes the process even harder. I played around with some colors on the computer. What do you think? These are general color families. Of course any one can be darkened or lightened at the paint store as needed. Do you have a favorite? Or should we chunk the curtain and start again from square one?

It should be noted that this bathroom has wood floors and beige sink, toilet and tub. So keep that in mind while looking at the pictures below.

Plum
Deep Red

Mustard green/brown
Pumpkin
Smokey grey/black
Turquoise

Well, my plan is already backfiring. The pictures have downloaded with strange colorings. They are all several shades brighter and more yellow than in the originals. Oh well. Use your imagination and vote anyway.

I have 2 thoughts: I like the red, I like how it complements black/cream (white) - but it will depend on how frequently you plan to change the decor because a wall color will commit you. My second choice is a beige/neutral color (like my house) - this will allow for anything and you can add color through accessories (towels/soap dish etc). There are my few thoughts/vote...

I tend to lean toward the red like JLH did, however, with the sink, tub and toilet being beige I would try to find a shower curtain that contained this color and do a more neutral color pallet with a red accent. What if you did a two-tone, where you had one color painted on top, add a chair rail and paint the bottom another? I like the smoke grey the best but I don't think that would work with the beige. Choices, choices, choices! Good luck!!

Whatever you do, avoid that Tennesee orange. Huwaaaa....I would go with crimson and gray, oh wait, aren't those Alabama colors? :-) ROLL TIDE!..Hmmm..guess I was supposed to vote, lets see..Go with the red

LWR Okay...I vote for the grey/black walls due to the fact that you have wood floors and cream/bisque sink, commode, and shower/tub. If you are going to use the "new/old" towel holder,paper holder and sink faucet, then they will blend well with both the grey/black. Bright yellow is another "splash color" along with reds that can be used for fun to change up the decor.... You know that I like bright color and would use it as much as possible. Okay, enough said......Happy deciding!!!

Actually they are all too dark. Keep it light. Have you considered a light sage color?
NOTE: This advice comes from someone who has trouble matching his socks.

Jen, I love what you have done with the bathroom. It looks great! My guest bath looks more like a kids bathroom, and yet I have no children. It is just really hard to find good shower curtains. I can't wait to see the master bath completed!
