Fun with Pumpkins
Saturday was a BEAUTIFUL day (unlike rainy, yucky, yesterday, today and tomorrow). So we tried to have some pumkin fun in the spirit of the season. The pictures will make it look like that everyone helped hollow the pumpkins, but in reality the kids would barely make contact with the inner goo. Spencer was quick enough to catch a shot of the .0003 seconds that there was pumpkin to skin contact. I saved the seeds and tried a sweet pumpkin seed recipe. I've done pumpkin seeds before that just used olive oil and salt/pepper. They were okay but not fantastic. These are pretty tasty. A little too chewy for Camille, but Easton likes them. Spencer ate one and almost gagged himself, so no thumbs up from the hubby.
After dinner Easton helped me make pumpkin krispies. Made exactly like a rice krispy treat but add orange kool-aide to the marshmallows and form in the shape of a ball. Add gummy green things on top to look like a stem.
