Shame on you Oxmoor

We're trying to sell our Highlander. Lately we've had a glitch in the thermostat. Every once in a while when you should feel cool air it will blow warm air or vice versa. If you turn the thermostat knob back and forth a bit, it will fix itself and go back to normal. It has never bothered us, but since we're selling it we figured we'd get it fixed for it's new owner. We took this to our local Toyota dealership and asked what it would cost to fix it. They told us it was a short in the thermostat (duh) and they'd have to take out the whole air conditioning system to fix it. Around a thousand bucks.

No thank you.

We'll just drop the price on it and tell it's new owners how to fiddle the knob (this might happen twice a month)

We've gotten several calls the past few days on the Highlander and Spencer took it over to a local place in J-town to get a second opinion on the price. They, too, assessed that it was a glitch in the thermostat. The guy told Spencer he had seen this in several other Highlanders. He called Spencer a few minutes ago to tell him he fixed the problem and we could come pick it up.

$75.

Thank you very much.

It drives me in sane to hear stories like this. Doesn't it make you want to call the first place back and say, "Hey, I'm not as stupid as you think I am."

Grrr...

Glad you were able to get it fixed!!!
