Tricky Pizza
Don't get me wrong, this pizza is not tricky in it's construction. Originally I thought I could make this pizza and trick my children into eating a vegetable. ha! Not so. They picked off everything but the bacon. And honestly, Camille picked the bacon off too. But Spencer and I thought it was great. Sometimes the "tricky" thing works with my kids. Thankfully they've learned that it doesn't benefit them to complain. Mom will continue making horrible, yucky, food - they can eat it...or not. And every once in a blue moon - when the tide is high - and humidity is low - they'll try something new.
Ingredients:
Pizza dough*
Alfredo sauce
Fresh spinach
Bacon
Mushrooms
Shredded Mozzarella
Dried Italian spices
Directions:
If dough is raw, cook for 5-6 minutes in oven until it barely loses the "dough" look and forms a slight crust.
Spread alfredo sauce on crust
Sprinkle on Italian spices (if you don't have this mix, just add whatever dried green spice you have - basil, oregano, etc. - probably not dill, ha!)
Add a layer of spinach leaves
Sprinkle cooked/crumbled bacon and mushrooms
Top with a handful shredded mozzarella
Cook in oven until crust is brown and cheese is bubbly.
*My sister taught me that you could buy frozen loaves of white bread dough in the freezer section of grocery. At Kroger they come in packs of 5 and one loaf is perfect for a pizza crust. Just have to set it out to rise early in the day.
